Serious work created by people who don’t take themselves too seriously

Working at Addison

An award-winning agency

It’s in our DNA

Our primary focus is doing great work for our clients, rather than being profitable. Despite that, we have stayed in business longer than most because great work actually leads to great success.

Diversity and inclusion

Diversity is important

With 50% women and 12 languages spoken, Addison makes equality, inclusion and accessibility a priority. We are honored to work with talented people from different cultures all over the world.

Employee engagement

It takes a village

Our employee engagement committee, led by Judith, our Head of Talent and all-around great human being, tries every day to make all of our lives a little sweeter.

Getting behind a cause

Helping our neighbors

Volunteering with New York Cares, we’ve painted schools, written hundreds of letters, built beehives, donated branding work and much more for our communities.

Healthy body, healthy mind

Every little bit counts

From our partnership with Crunch Fitness to the crunch of fresh fruit and nuts, from step challenges to guest masseuse chair massages, we encourage and promote good health.

Sustainability

We care about the planet

We have a company meeting on Earth Day where Roger, our CEO and a lifelong environmentalist, reports on the world and our part in making it sustainable.

Mentorship

Onboarding and ongoing

Our employee handbook explains how everything works, but your assigned buddy will show you the ropes. We have weekly Creative Director meetings with our junior and mid-level designers, and our CEO meets with all team members one-on-one every month.

Our space, our location

A great place to create

Our open, light-filled office is a great place to create. Our eighth floor has a production studio and a ping-pong table. Designers will often play music on the overhead speakers and connect over lunch at our sharing table. And did we mention Friday happy hour?

The trials and tribulations of creative life

murals at addison

An artist’s study in orange

We hired artist Marcos Chin, who hand-painted our murals, bringing a whimsical and creative vibe to the space.

Our history:
Probably more than you need to know…

In the beginning

Founded by a Wall Street journalist and a magazine designer

In 1962, Leslie Segal and Dick Lewis had an idea—that great storytelling and engaging design could create an industry. And so smarter and more strategic annual reports were born and transformed forever. Today we call this union Strategy Made Visible®.

You’re the goldfish people, right?

The Wolff and the goldfish

As part of a major global agency in the 1980s, our then Global Creative Director Michael Wolff created our famous goldfish in 1987. That enduring symbol proved to have incredible brand recall and helped launch our branding business. People from decades ago still remember Addison by our beautiful goldfish.

Growing up on our way downtown

From brownstones to skyscrapers

We bought three brownstones and linked them together on rather seedy 34th Street in 1963. Three decades later we moved into Chiat Day’s old office in Union Square during the 1990s. In 2001 we moved downtown to Exchange Place, and then to Wall Street in 2012 before it became a hub of downtown chic. Our final home is in the beautiful Bank of New York skyscraper, in an office space designed by Gensler.
