Image Researcher

Addison is seeking a skilled Image Researcher for our Creative Resources team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Recommends to the creative staff the talents of photographers, illustrators and videographers that are appropriate for the execution of the agency’s creative concepts within existing timetables and budgets.
  • Coordinates pre-production planning and purchasing of art work and prepares for release to the creative resources department for all print and interactive projects.
  • Conducts photo research using stock agencies, photographers’ archives and contacts.
  • Negotiates and obtains permissions and copyright requirements for appropriate usage.
  • Liaises between artists and project teams to ensure concepts are realized; negotiates costs, prepares vendor agreements, purchase orders and schedules.
  • Complies to quality standards for the assignment as set forth by the department head Builds and maintains a library of photographers, illustrators and videographers, as well as an archival system.
  • Builds relationships at appropriate client/vendor level.
  • Negotiates usage and rates with artists’ representatives after consultation with team and controller.
  • Tracks costs and routes/processes invoices.

Basic qualifications

  • Knowledge of copyright laws, regulations, permissions, procedures and usage rights essential.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience such as picture research, art buying and image management.
  • Working knowledge of current design, illustration and office systems, software and processes.
  • Understanding of image, design and production roles/relationships.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under deadline on multiple tasks.
  • Strong project management and negotiation skills.
