USING THE EOB TO CONTROL COSTS AND STRENGTHEN MEMBER RELATIONSHIPS
April, 2010 - While today's health care debate has revealed deep divides over reform, nearly everyone can agree that there is waste, fraud and abuse in the current health care system.

One tactic that insurers can use to improve their reputations and strengthen member relationships is to develop an enhanced Explanation of Benefits (EOB). A clear, effective EOB will engage members, improve perceptions of their insurers, and gain active participation in the effort to control health care costs while detecting fraud and abuse.

On April 6th, Addison and DALBAR conducted a Webcast highlighting the results of DALBAR's first-ever national evaluation and ranking of EOBs. The panel featured innovators who have recognized the enhanced EOB's potential to foster strong customer relationships while increasing member loyalty and satisfaction.

Agenda:
  • DALBAR report overview
  • Perspectives from top-ranked firms Arkansas Blue Cross and
    Blue Shield, CIGNA and Humana
  • Addison's best practices in design
  • Looking forward to further innovation
